1) How do I go from selecting my favorite awning to getting an estimate and buying an awning?

Just complete the Request A Quote section or call us at 1-800-283-8053 and one of our experienced and knowledgeable professional consultants will help you with your questions and measurements. Our team will give you a free no-obligation estimate and will work with you to decide on an awning that best meets your needs. We offer a wide range of colors, sizes and styles.

 

2) Are the awnings easy to install?

Yes. It doesn't take any special background or skills to install our awnings properly. All you must do is follow the easy steps in the Installation Kit included with the awning. We'll show you everything you need to know. You can have your awning up and installed, using a few simple tools. We provide all the hardware needed and instructions with pictures to help you with the installation.

 

3) Can I install the awning on vinyl or aluminum siding, stucco, or on masonry?

 Yes. We provide all the hardware for each type of installation.

 

4) Can I get a catalog or brochure?

All our awnings are featured on our website, so we do not have a printed catalog or brochure.

We do offer free metal samples for the awnings we sell to help with your selection.

 

5) How are the awnings built?

All of our awnings are carefully hand crafted by our experts in our shop in South Louisiana, USA. We only sell awnings with superior materials and installation hardware. Our awnings have strong frames made with structural aluminum that is powder coated for a durable finish to prevent rusting and corroding. Using natural copper or metal, our talented craftsmen make each awning by hand with standing seams for a perfect fit. This kind of expert engineering allows our awnings to remain strong when the winds blow in excess or during heavy snowfalls. 

Our awnings have been Miami - Dade County approved.

These engineered canopies have been designed to withstand every condition across the country including high snow drift loading and hurricane force winds. Our canopies have evolved to include a wide variety of profiles, shapes, curves and an almost unlimited color palette in any architectural finish.

 

6) What kind of wind load and snow loads can a Design Your Awning awning handle?

The awnings by Design Your Awning have been engineered and tested to withstand strong winds as well as heavy snow loads.

Our awnings have been Miami - Dade County approved.

7) How long does it take to receive the awning once I place the order?

Custom Awnings – Custom orders will vary depending on the time of year. Our custom awning orders are usually shipped on an 8-10 week schedule.

Standard Size Awnings – Our Standard Size awnings will ship in approximately in 2-3 weeks.

 

8) How do I pay for my order?

We accept all major credit cards Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and personal checks or money order. We do not accept credit cards from foreign banks or PayPal.

 

9) Will I have to pay tax on my order?

We do not collect sales tax on orders shipping outside of the state of Louisiana.  If your order is shipping to a Louisiana address, we collect an 8.45 percent sales tax.

 

10) Do you ship orders to Hawaii, Alaska, or Internationally?

We ship only to the 48 contiguous states of the U.S and Canada

 

11) Do you charge for shipping my order?

Custom Awnings – Yes. We will provide you with an exact shipping charge with the awning estimate.

We ship all custom awnings using common carriers throughout the United States and Canada.

Standard Size Awnings – Yes. We charge a $350 shipping fee. We ship all custom awnings using common carriers throughout the United States and Canada.

 

12) If I pay for my order with a credit card, when will my credit card be charged?

Your credit card will be charged at the time you submit your order. All of our awnings are custom made to your order specifications, so we require payment in full before production of your order begins the Standard Size Awnings.

For Custom Awnings - We require a 50% deposit on all custom orders. We will provide a picture of your completed awning for confirmation before shipping and charging the remaining balance.

 

13) Will I get an order confirmation?

Yes. When you place your order online, you will immediately receive an order confirmation by email.

 

14) Can I cancel or make changes to my order after it is placed?

Production of your awning usually starts the first business day after we receive it. We must be notified within one business day from the time your order is placed to cancel or make any changes. We do not offer refunds for awnings that have entered production.

 

15)  If my awning does not fit can I return it?

Since all of our awnings are custom built to your specifications they cannot be returned.See our Return Policy.

 

16) How can I make sure that my awning will fit?

Use the request a quote worksheets found on our site to guide you in measuring.  Once you have general measurements, use blue painters tape to make the outline of the awning on your house. You will know instantly if the awning will fit.  If not, make adjustments accordingly.  And, as always we are able to assist you over the phone or by email.

 

17) Does the awning come with a warranty?

Yes. Every style awning from Design Your Awning - comes with a 10-Year Limited Warranty against defects in framework materials and workmanship. This limited warranty coverage runs for 10 years from the original install date.
